Ask an Art Buyer: In Person in Vancouver

by Heather on March 21, 2010

If I do say so, my talk on Thursday night at Sugar Studios in Vancouver is going to be a good one. I’ve got the big suitcase already half packed with some great promotional samples to share with you and my powerpoint presentation is looking awesome:

One of the most exciting things about actually speaking with you LIVE is that we can move away from the absolutes, (ie. you MUST loose the plastic sleeves) and instead, we’ll have time to talk about the nuances of a marketing strategy. (Really this is the best argument for having a one-on-one consultation- to help apply all of this marketing advice to your particular path. It looks like I may have some more time slots available in Vancouver for private consults, drop me a line if you’re interested).

So during Thursday night’s talk, I’ll be able to go into much more detail about many of the things I’ve touched on here and come at them from a few different perspectives. The title of the talk will be “Rules and Exceptions” and it will cover the following:

  • Deciphering the reasons behind and the exceptions to popular marketing advice
  • Predicting what lies ahead for our industry
  • Explaining what Art Buyers expect out of their suppliers and what the most important factors are when awarding a job

Most importantly, this talk will also be a discussion. Over the last two years I’ve answered almost 50 actual “Ask an Art Buyer” questions- here’s your chance to ask me in person! I can’t wait to talk to you Vancouver.
