The Quickest Way to a Client’s Campaign is through their Stomachs

by Heather on July 21, 2009

I’ve talked before about the importance of good catering. Words of wisdom: The client may not remember the shot you gave them but guaranteed, they’ll remember the lunch.

Shooting with Ishi this week, this is the lunch I’ll remember from yesterday:

Several months ago I sat down to lunch with Hamin Lee and team for a delightful selection of salads from New-Caterer-On-Block, Loic. It was divine and even more so, given their story. Loic is the brainchild of photographer Kathleen Finlay and chef husband David Kokai and has become an on set regular for the East End photography crews. I like that they offer compostable containers and I like that they source local produce. It feels like the photography community is helping out one of it’s own when they order from Loic. I like that too.

I’m back in the studio, shooting another long day with Ishi for Bell. Loic will make that a whole lot tastier.

With pleasure Kathleen, thanks for the risotto today! I have no idea how the shoot’s going- I’m in a food coma!

Now we have a topic that I truly love. LOIC is the best food I have ever served my clients. Happy tummies on top of great photography is what my clients deserve. Love LOIC. Food with heart!

I was first introduced to LOIC when given a dinner for two as an Xmas gift from the lovely ladies at Full Serve Productions, and loved it. Ever since, LOIC has been making its way into my catering roster for casting lunches. The eco-concious locavore approach is something I support, and the connection to the industry through Kathleen is something I was unaware of, but will certainly keep in mind when thinking of where to order from next. Heather/Ishi I think I should have been invited down to set for that lunch, there must have been some excuse for my attendance ;)
