Heather’s Teaching at PIKTO! Plus Auction Sneak Peek #2.

by Heather on January 18, 2012

PIKTO has been a big HMAb supporter for awhile now- going back to my first party in 2010. Not only are they the lead sponsor of my Fundraiser, printing all of our silent auction prints, but they’ve also asked me to teach another course as part of their wonderful workshop series!

Running next Saturday, January 28th from 10am – 5pm, this one will be all about Marketing and I’m thrilled to tell you that I’ll be joined by the fantastic Anne-Maureen McKeating (Senior Art Buyer at TAXI- her wisdom has appeared on this blog several times) So basically you get two Art Buyers for the (low) price of one.

And boy can we talk about marketing- between the two of us we’ll share loads of examples of do’s and don’ts. Plus, bring in any promotion that you’ve done for a thorough and thoughtful critique. Marketing is a huge and complex subject (social media, print vs. email, image selection, treatment writing, etc. etc.) which warrants an individualized approach. We’re deliberately keeping course enrollment low so that we have the chance to look at each participants specific strengths and begin the development of a consistent and relevant promotional strategy. No matter what point you’re at in your journey to professional photographer status, this course will help you understand the overwhelming options that current marketing trends offer. Hope you can join us- for more info, go here.

And, here’s another sneak peek of some of the prints donated to the auction. Tickets are selling fast friends, so if you intend on going, make sure you buy ahead- click on the paypal link to the right which will put you on the list for the party.
